Our Trip to Bali

Well its not too often you get to go to Bali and it was all work too. So you can see some pictures. I have included a few. We stayed in one of the nicest hotels we have ever stayed in. It was not expensive compared to what we get for our condo in PC or what we have to pay when in Europe or New York. But it had its own pool so Mom could go swimming without anybody seeing her. Except I got a few pictures. Mom caught me sleeping, which was very rare. Oh yea, I got busted by the Bali Army the one time I went out on the beach. They said no old fat bald guys allowed. I really needed Franco and his guns.

Here is a video of how they dance in Bali. Sherrie is the one in the back.

AGE: 58 is the new 40

Well, I finally did it. I bought a motorcycle (2 actually). I dont know when I will get to ride it but now I can have something to do when its not ski season. Sherrie and I are travelling so much I doubt if I will ride it. I was thinking I would get to ride it over 4th of July weekend but it looks like we have to go back to Washington for the 4th of July festivities and then a meeting on Monday in Washington. We will be with one of President Bush's advisors, Richard LaPointe and his wife, former Deputy Director for Department of Education and now working out of the White House. But that is another blog update when we get back.
Opps I added a ski picture.

Number 11 Cindy's Graduation

It finally happened. The last kid graduated. Cynthia Lorraine Stephens, our last baby is out of High School. Now we are empty nesters except for the kids that keep moving back into our house. But we love it. We are gone most of the time anyway.

Geneva and Capri

Sherrie and I were in Geneva for UN Meetings May 19, 2008 and I am just catching up with the pics from that trip. We flew into Zurich and took the train to Montreux. We stayed in Montreux at the other end of the lake. I had to take the train in every day. About 60 miles. We finished on Friday but we thought we had to come back the following Tuesday so we flew down to Rome for the weekend and decided to take the train to Naples and boat to the Isle of Capri.

There are basically no streets on the island so you have to walk to the Hotel. This hotel is a new Marriott in a 100 year old hotel building:

So these are some of the pictures see if you can guess which ones are Montreux and which ones are Capri.

In June, Mom and I went to Washington DC. Our good friend Ernest Franklin and the Navajo Nation got the Computer World Laurets Award, which is a really big deal.

Granma Sheshe's Birthday Palooza

Well we have not updated our site in a while and Tami said to just start from now so I wont talk about Capri etc. I will talk about leaving July 23 and taking Mom to Bali for 5 days and then on to Paris. We start by going to Atlanta, then a direct flight to Seoul. Korea, then to Osaka, Japan where we overnight. The next day we go to Bali. Wanna see where we are staying?

Check this out: http://www.starwoodhotels.com/westin/property/photos/virtual_tour.html?propertyID=35&mediaGroupId=1001385902&mediaId=1001385899

Mom will have her own private Birthday Pooloza.

We then leave on the 31st and go to Tokyo then to Paris. I have a meeting there on Friday then we party like it was 1975. We will be back on August 4 just in time for me to make a BBQ dinner for 200 at girls camp the next day.

Grandma and Grandpa at a Jazz Game

Whoooo! the Jazz won tonight! We were invited to the Chase/JPMorgan Box and had great food and watched the Jazz beat the Spurs by almost 30 points. Sherrie loved it after a week of beach hotel in Pismo and then hob-nobing with the Grameen folks in Seattle. Which, by the way, caused us to have to drive to Portland to make a flight since all the Seattle - SLC flights were sold out. We sent Kristy and message from the Portland Airport and she could not believe we were there!

So here we are at the Jazz Game! PS Yes those racoon eyes are from skiing!
